I Won Something!?!

What a beautiful day outside! I dont know where the weather man got the idea that it was going to be cold and rainy? Windy?...YA but what else is new! lol Anyways, I was up at 6:40 this morning so I could be on my way to my POLS test by 7:45. I ate a banana as I was hopping on the elevator in my dorm...
However, if you are going to get me up at 6:40 (after going to bed around midnight), I must make a trip to the Student Union (SUB) for some coffee....just a small 8oz (plus I got a free refill after my first class!). I use about 2 splendas and that's it.
After Chemistry, I headed to Biology and munched on an apple along the way. Yep, Im the girl chowin' down on an apple as she walks across campus (Sorry but there is no time to stop and eat sometimes! lol)
[[Check out that juice dripping down....it was a goooood one!]]
After BIO I had to run to the library to print something out, check email, etc. I ate this while I browsed on the computer: (A smashed PB&J on Whole Wheat bread!)
Anyways, I love getting email, but today was an extra special day because I won a contest (I never win anything!). Thanks to PetitFoodie, I will be winning two bottles of Country Bob’s All Purpose Sauce!! How fun. I am sending them home to my mom seeing as I do not have a kitchen. She is excited! :)
Next up was Chem Lab and Chem Discussion. After Chem Lab, my friend Kristen and I went to the library to work on the post lab and pre lab for next week. My tummy was grumbling (Around 4) so I pulled out my emergency snack ( a must have). Blueberry Clif Z Bar! OMG! This was my first time trying this flavor and I am hooked. It seems so much denser and more moist than the others and it has no saturated fat (score!). There will be many more of these in my future!
I just stepped out of the ordinary and treated myself to some 1% Chocolate milk. It was super yummy! I usually stick with plain because of the extra sugar, but I do love my chocolate! ;)

Alrighty, time to do some homework! I am hitting the gym with Alexa around 6. We plan to do about 30 minutes on the machine and attend the 20 minutes Abs class (KILLER!). Then we'll grab dinner and I'll be back to recap (and give you the fact of the day, of course!)
Enjoy your day!

What is it?

As I said yesterday....I was going to one of my favorite casual restaurants today. But we will get to that later.
First off was church. I picked up my friend around 9AM and she brought me a small container of skim milk (I basically had nothing left but 3 Clif Zbars and some popcorn). Make that 2 Clif Bars because I ate one in the car for "breakfast".

Afterwards, we went a tad bit out of the way to wash 'Rolla (the name for my car). I dont know if it is all of the wind here or the plethora of birds (you know...), but my car is constantly dirty! I try so hard to keep it clean; but man, when you have to pay $8 each time (the cheapest option)because you dont have a hose to do it youself, it starts to add up! Needless to say, I shelled out the $8 today....I couldnt take it anymore!

And Now for the time you have been waiting for......What is my favorite causal restaurant of all times? JASONS DELI. Some of you are probably scratching your heads thinking...ummmm....!!? However, I beg to differ. Sure their sandwiches are yummy and the Vegetarian Vegetable soup that I got was warm, comforting, delicious, etc...BUT Jasons is amazing because of their soft-served ice cream. Yep, I cant leave there without consuming 3 cones. It's my limit. I tried consuming 4 once, but i had a stomach ache (lol)! I am an ice cream LOVER and this stuff just sends me through the roof! When I got my wisdom teeth taken out, my wonderful mother would go to Jasons and bring me a home a to-go cup full of ice cream (a true dream). Anyways, this is the one time I will splurge and have no problem eating 3 ice cream cones once a week (We usually go each Sunday!).

Thankfully, after Church, a MUCH NEEDED carwash and a fabulous lunch....I was able to hit up the grocery store. Here is what I ended up buying: (you will be seeing it all throughout the week!)
I also ran to the mall and treated myself to a pair of jeans. Technically speaking, I am not sure if it was truly "treating myself". I mean when you only do laundry once a week, you need more than 2 pairs, right? Especially when it's cold and you are not able to wear shorts once in a while.

Afterwards, I came home and (surprise surprise....) Studied!! It was great fun (Life Cereal helped me along the way....I had a few too many extra handfulls!...haha). Also, to make up for my light lunch, I had an open faced PBJ. I desperately needed a break from Poli Sci; so around 6, Alexa and I headed to the gym. I have not been in about a week or so because I had a really bad cold/flu syptoms. However, I am all better now and it felt good to sweat a little.

Dinner was simply a salad. It was very refreshing and just what I was in the mood for. I kept it simple with a bit of spinach and romaine, carrot shreds, black olives, green pepper, broccoli and some light Italian dressing (sorry no pic!)

For my nightly snackies I chose these two items:

Another Activia Light (yea I used the same pic....sneaky!)

Choclate Chunk Chex Mix Bar (love that chocolate!)
There are only 5 MORE WEEKS until spring break! I am so excited to see my family and my beloved little puppies. They are waiting for me.....counting the days!
Fact of The Day:
Cooking losses of some essential nutrients (i.e. vitamins) can be more than 75% (ouch!). Also, steam tables (the things that keep food warm in cafeterias or while they are waiting to be served) can destroy many of the vitamins in foods.

Ok, Time to stop thinking about Food (darn!) and start thinking about Political Science! WOO Tommorrow is supposed to be crazy windy around here and possibly rainy. I have 6 different classes tommorrow, so it should be interesting to see how my day pans out. Until then....

Intense!!!!

Thank you for all of the kind words! How has everyone's day been? Mine's been go, go, go! I slept in a bit this morning (Saturdays are my only chance) and woke up around 9:45. I then did a bit of homework and ate a Clif Z Bar and Activia Light:Afterwards, I finally got around to getting out of my PJ's and........did some more homework (exciting, no?). Oh yea, I also had a PBJ (made with creamy MaraNatha's Organic Peanut Butter) for a quick lunch at some point.
Around two, my friend and I took a break and headed over to Sam's Place (food place on campus) to get a smoothie! YUM! I got the Double Fudge Mocha Smoothie (helllloo!) which is simply skim milk, 2 scoops of magic powder and ice. We then decided to enjoy the fresh air and take a walk around campus. It was a much needed, fun and tasty break!

[[Check out the poor dead grass. It just cant handle the crazy cold weather that we have most days]]

However, when I got back home I had to do laundry (boo!). BUT I made it fun by bringing my Food Science Book down with me (FDSC is the one class I actually enjoy reading for!). I munched on some carrots too. I am SUCH a mutli-tasker, it is not even funny! By the way, My FDSC class is turning out to be quite interesting and I think I am going to start adding a "Fact of the Day" to all of my posts! I think some of you guys might really enjoy it and this is a food blog after all! Let me know your thoughts!
I had plans to meet my friend for dinner at 6, but my stomach was not going to wait that long so I finished off my Honey Kix cereal around 5 (about 1/2 cup?!). Have you tried this new stuff? I used to be "Anti-Kix" because I thought it disgraced the name of cereal by being so bland and .....you know. However, I figured that by adding a little sugar, GM might be on to something. And I figured right! A serving is one and 1/4 cup, so it really satisfies them munchies that set on when I am studying. It will not satisfy people who are die hard sugary cereal fans. Then again, I tend to think of myself as a ceral connoisseur and I reallllly like this stuff. Maybe you should check it out!?
Dinner was worth the wait because I got one of my favorite items....Veggie Pizza! :D Ironically, I had a veggie pizza in my last post (about a month ago); and while I have certainly had some more since then, it still been a while! Good to the last crumb:

After dinner, we marched across campus to watch an intense game of Basketball, which we won!!!!! (It is always more fun that way! lol). Jumping around and cheering really worked up an appetite, so I headed back to Sam's Place with Almond M&M's on my mind....only to find that they were sold out! (Sad!). Disappointed, I headed back to my room and settled for some Emerald Cocoa Roast Almonds I have hiding in my snack drawer. Actually, settled is not really the right word because these chocolate-y babies may not have the crunchy coating of milk chocolate that M&M's provide, but they are still DELISH!
Lastly, I polished off this juicy gala apple....

Enjoy your night! Tommorrow is church, followed by errands and one of my favorite casual restaurants of all time.....and it's not really because of their food, but because of something else........I think I will keep you in suspense?! Here is a hint...The part that keeps me coming back time after time is a lucious, creamy creation and I CANT stop at just one! ;) Happy Dreams!

Fact of the Day:

As many of you know, some of the daily supply of milk produced on farms spoils before it can get to packaging and the consumers. However, this milk does not go to waste. The casein (milk protein) can be used as a glue component and the lactose (milk sugar) is sold to pharmaceutical companies, so they can add it to pills and make them less bitter (check the ingredient list on some of your pill bottles!)

p.s. I just pulled a Motts Blueberry Delight Healthy Harvest Aplpesauce out of the fridge....and a 100 calorie pack of popcorn just went into the microwave! I actually am still kind of hungry, so it's legit! haha

What can I say?

I have been thinking about this all day (off and on): I miss doing my food blog. It has been a month since I decided to stop and I truly do miss it! I have been thinking about it because I do not want to start it back up only to bring it down again in the near future. However, I have decided I am ready to take on the challenge!

What can I say? I love food and reading food blogs and I just want to participate in the fun! ;) So from here on out I plan on doing a nightly post recapping the day's food with pics. I always have extra time at night to read all of ya'lls (there's the Texan in me) food blogs, so why not spend a little time on my own! I hope you enjoy and leave comments along the way!

Let the journey begin! (agian...!)

P.s. If you are a "Fabulous Foodie" that I have yet to discover, leave a comment so I can add you to my blog roll!
