Remember this random box that popped into my photo shoot?! Well, it has a purpose, oh yes it does!
Here is what I discovered within... (okay, so it was packaged nicely in boxes and whatnot, but I thought it would be fun to make a tower out of my newfound creations. Hey, it was that or studying...)
My favorite pillow made for the perfect "backdrop"!
Susan asked me where I purchased these tasty creations when I recently blogged about them. I am here with the answer...Kathleen from http://www.flaxmatters.com/ truly hooked me up by sending me some of their Chocolate & Cherry Omega Flax Seed Bars. Each 1.58oz bar has "650 mg of ALA Omega-3 (that's HALF of the RDA for ALA Omega-3) to benefit your cardiovascular health and immune system"! Not to mention, 6g of satiating protein!
MeadowPure milled flaxseed takes this bar to the next level...
First up, is the lovely Pizzey's Premium Chocolate Omega Flax Seed Bar.
As you can see from the nutritional stats below, this chocolicious bar contains 190 satisfying calories, 2g of fiber, 6g of protein and is low in the sodium dept. The ingredient list is long and sort of turned me off at first. However, as you read through it, there is nothing that I found appalling; although, many might disapprove of the HFCS, which is low on the list...
As I have said before, the texture of this bar is very unique. It combines the chewiness of granola with the crispiness of soy crisps and the smoothness of chocolate chips. Most chocolate chips that simply dot the top of a bar just get lost in the mix of things and seem like an after thought (Exhibit A); but this is not the case with Pizzey's creation. The base of this bar has such a thorough, yet not overwhelming sweetness that is enhanced by the sweet and smooth chocolate chips, which make it into each and every bite.
Secondly, I received some Pizzey's Premium Cherry Omega Flax Seed Bars to sink my bar-lovin' teeth into...
This bar had the same delightful base with a perfect sweetness and chewy, unique texture; but the dried cherries that were mixed into the batter acted like little pockets of natural sweetness, elevating the cherry flavor of this bar to the fullest.
Overall, I really liked these bars. They have a great texture and such a defined flavor profile, without having too much going on. Would you like to create your own tower with these Flax Packed Bars?!
I thought so. One of you will be winning a package of Pizzey's Premium Chocolate Omega Flax Seed Bars.
Another one of you (yep, Kathleen opted to make the day of TWO WINNERS), will receive a package of Pizzey's Premium Cherry Omega Flax Seed Bars.
