Uno Leche Muffin

Have you heard of Tres Leches Cake? **Everyone shakes their head in agreement** Well, I went to Starbucks the other day and picked up my favorite muff: Starby's Apple Bran Muffin. I only ended up eating half of it amidst all of the studying, so I tightly rolled up it's little paper baggie and placed it in the fridge. 1.5 days later (oh yes, 1.5...haha), I took it out of the fridge to enjoy with my morning coffee and it was DRY! So dry, in fact, that someone other than my crafty self may have thrown it away. However, I saw no need for this deliciousness to go to waste...So I asked myself: WWFD (i.e. What would my fellow foodies do?).

Exhibit APlace the dry muff in a cup/bowl/vessel of your choosing.
Now, drizzle the milk over the muffin, nice and slow, to ensure that the muffin is absorbing it. If the interior of your muffin is not exposed (as mine is), you may want to break it open because the crusty edges don't absorb the milk quite as well. You are not trying to drown the poor little muff, but simply bring it back to life... Move the muffin around and keep drizzling the milk until every part of the muffin has been enhanced by the leche that you have chosen.
I used Vanilla Soymilk, which may have amped up the flavor a bit, just fyi!
And VIOLA! Your poor little muff is back in action! I may or may not intentionally dry out a future muffin so that I can enjoy this again! ;)

I'm working on a massive bar-review post. yay! The problem is, I have to eat the bars first...haha. There are so many. However, I can breeze through a bar stash in no time, have no fear! ;)

We didn't get to spin this morning because the class was jammed full...as was the rest of the gym. Who knew so many students hit up the gym at 6AM?! I loved doing my workout early though! So invigorating!

  8. way to revive that muffin! i usually don't grab food at sbux because it's kinda pricey and i'd rather have fun baking it myself, but i am a fan of their apple cranberry muffin and the artificial tasting but so damn good blueberry coffee cakes! as for bars, i'm into Laras and WCMN Lunas, but since I got my food processor i've been making my own to save some $!

  10. Good luck makin' it through your bar stash girlie! (I love larabars and honey graham z's, to answer your q).

I would've done the same thing with a dry muffin! I think throwing a muffin away, no matter what its condition is a sin. Glad to know I'm not alone in this.

  13. Love the muffin idea. Way to revive it. My fave bar is probably clif, but I rarely eat bars of any sort since they would need to be sent to me by my mom.
