piLATEs

Well Alexa and I were planning on trying pilates tomorrow night, but I have to work the late shift, so we are going on Tuesday morning!
Any Pilates Gu-Ru's out there?!
*
So this is not a post of all of my eats today...rather some of my more interesting eats...

First...PB Yogurt (it's been too long) with frozen banana chunks. Go. Make. This. Now.

Mix about 1/2 c. Yogurt (I use FF Vanilla Stonyfield Farm) with ~1T PB (Mine was crunchy this time) and stir in ~half of a frozen banana (I cut my bananas into small chunks before freezing and then microwave them for about 6 seconds so that I can seperate them).

After mixing, the bananas act as a type of gelatin/whatnot and it's so creamy & cool.....Oh man! :D
For "Brunch", I made a frittata of sorts....I sauteed the following veggies:
  • Portabellos
  • Red Peppers
  • Carrots
  • Onion
  • Shredded Broccoli Stems (this is an ingenious way to use the bulky stems..and sneak veggies into your diet!)
  • TOOOOONS of Chili Powder :D

When verything looked just right, I turned down the heat and poured in 1egg + 1 egg white (beaten together). Once it looked fairly set, I placed it under the broiler until it look fully cooked.

Then I cut it up and plated...Let's get a closer look at this goodness! SOOO Good! And such a fun way to mix things up!

After work, I dove into this little guy..err gal... ;)

Penny's Low Fat Desserts Almond Poppy Seed Muffin Top
There is a light lemon essence in the midst of a perfectly subtle sweetness. However, the first thing you will notice is that each bite is...very, very dense, almost like a sweet dough; which I actually thoroughly enjoyed! The abundance of poppy seeds adds a slight element of crunch, but the delightfully dense textural experience overwhelms.
I enjoyed every. single. bite.
And finished it off with a scoop of Breyers FREE Vanilla Ice Cream! MMM baby! :D
Look at what came in the mail today...it is from Anthro! They have the cutest stuff! They sent me a 15% off coupon because (I just wrote b/c...your not in 10th grade anymore, Emily!) my birthday is this month (July 16th!) and it came in a cute little sewing pouch!

Next Food Network Star is on tonight and my mom and I are sooooo READY!

Are you?!

A Must See & Try

I woke up at 8:30 and combined some Multigrain Cherrios with Puffins, half a banana and skim milk.....the combo was just so good yesterday! Then, I picked up Alexa and we headed to Target. I picked up a few groceries, returned something and we shopped around for our dorm next year. We also stopped by the Starbucks that is in Target. I got an unpictured Nonfat Tall Vanilla Latte! MMMM!

GOSH I love Super Target....Starbucks, Produce, Clothes, Food, School Supplies, The Dollar Spot, Dishes, Bars....what more could you possibly ask for?! I set off this morning fully prepared to spread the love that is Operation Beautiful...
just keep a post-it pad in your purse and be ready at all times!

Alexa and I went to see The Proposal. OH my gosh... this movie was hilarious! I was laughing about 80% of the time, but there was still some sweet moments that stole me heart. It was a huge hit! A MUST SEE! :D

Movie Snack!

After the movie, I came home around 2. I was hungry, so I had a cheese stick; while my fruit chilled in the freezer (After sitting in my hot car!).
Then, I had a little of everything that I bought at Target today...
Black Grapes, Cherries AND a new cereal (ALERT! ALERT!)...Kashi Heart To Heart Warm Cinnamon Oat......this is a MUST TRY cereal. No really, it tastes somewhat like a Snickerdoodle Cookie and when it melds with milk...watch out!
I dare say that it is better than the Honey Toasted Variety!
*
I also had a Smart Ones Brownie a la Mode as a Midday Dessert.
Let's just say that I got WAAAAY too excited about my sinful new cereal find, so dinner will most likely be something light...a sweet potato with chili, veggie burger salad..
I'm not sure! What I do know is that, while I have been getting plenty of fruit, I need to pack in the veggies tomorrow!
Darn sweet tooth! ;)
Enjoy your weekend and I shall talk to ya tomorrow bloggies! ♥

PB FroYo INC

Today was very tiring...but busy and fun all the same! It all started out with a nice bowl of cold cereal (Cinnamon Puffins & Multigrain Cherrios), Skim milk AND PB! (and half a banana)
Have you guys ever tried PB in your cold cereals?! Soo good! After an hour at the gym (and another Operation Beautiful Note...I forgot my camera!), I came home and had two of these cookies! Back to Nature Crispy Oatmeal Cookies are the kind of food that is SO GOOD, you make yourself stop buying them
(Just see Miss PB Swirl's comment on this post!)
After showering and all of that good stuff, I cooked up these delightful 365 Butternut Squash Ravioli (YUMMM!), topped them with a dab of butter and steamed some broccoli to go alongside! I love me some steamed broccoli! :D

Then Alexa and I headed off to see FOOD INC.
Here is my review:

This is a great movie that was well researched and all. However, I
don't really think I learned anything new. Yes, we should buy locally and
organically because when we slide something over the scanner at the supermarket,
we are making a vote. However, as they say in the movie, it's not really
plausible (money-wise) for everyone to do that. In the movie they say that we
need to start "demanding wholesome food and they will deliver". I couldn't agree
more, but I think in the end.....the people who go to see this movie are going
to be foodies who already know what the movie is talking about and the people
who should go see the movie...won't. I think it would be awesome if they
incorporated the movie into classes in middle/high school, though!

The Real Highlight of the film was when the lady in front of us fell asleep about half way through and SNORED through the whole second half of the movie! haha!

When I got home, I had about 30 minutes to eat something quick and head off to work. I piled the other half of my banana from breakfast (frozen) & some Stonyfield FF Vanilla yogurt (with a few choc chips) into a cute glass and had some grapes, a peach and Penny's Low Fat Desserts Peanut Butter Cookie perched upon my oblong blue plate.

It was quite the spread. Penny's Low Fat Desserts Peanut Butter Cookie:

This is one of my favorites. It is creamy and while the peanut butter is not bursting at the seams, it is also not subtle. It's like the perfect amount of creaminess ...and when the cookie pops straight out of the oven and into your mouth, it tastes more like gooey PB Cookie DOUGH (HELLO!). Like all of the other delicious Penny's Creations....this was dense, soft and big! :D
I also stuck my hand into some Triscuit Thin Crack..err Crisps a couple of times...
Work went by quickly and I ended up spending some of my tips on some FroYO! It was enough to make two cones...and two cones it was!

What a great ending to the night...

Intuitive BBQ

Today was a great day of eats! I don't think that I have eaten this intuitively in a long time and it makes me want to continue with the streak tomorrow! :D
*
Breakfast consisted of a whole wheat dinner roll (Target brand and ohh so good!), cut into thirds (not half!) and topped with PB & Blueberry/Cherry Preserves. Alongside (in a matching bowl) was a chopped peach with some black grapes mixed in!
Beautiful and Tasty! After showering and getting ready for a long day at the FroYo shop, I whipped up a quick lunch. Into the frying pan went:
Carrot Slices
Red Bell Peppers
Broccoli
Portabello 'Shrooms
Lentils
Onions
A bit of Spaghetti Sauce
It was soooooo GOOD, filling and fresh (none of the veggies were frozen).
Work went by quicker than usual because we were quite busy. I actually had to open about 15-20 minutes early because there was a Volleyball Team of about 20+ middle school girls having a "sit-in". They arrived about 10 minutes after me (I usually have 30 minutes to get ready/open) and they were chanting "We want Ice Cream", "We Scream for Ice Cream", etc etc...I wasn't really mad or anything...it was actually quite funny and they did tip a little bit....

I rushed home after work, changed my clothes, prepped my dinner and shoved down some PRE-SPIN fuel before running out the door....
A banana & Three True North Almond Clusters
Spinning was GREAT (per usual) and I had made a dinner completely wrapped in foil so that my daddio could throw it in a 350* oven while I drove home...
My side dish of choice was rutabaga (see "recipe" here). But the main show was a BBQ Fish Taco..Oh yes, I did! I took half of the same fish shown in this post and wrapped it in an Alvarado St. Sprouted Wheat Tortilla with some BBQ sauce and All Natural Kraft Shredded Colby Jack. I served it over a bed of crisp romaine!
Absolutely AH-Mazing Combo
And the other half...because they both looked so good that I couldn't pick just one to show you!
And Dessert was half of a WF Vegan Oatmeal Raisin Cookie (I may or may not have eaten the other half yesterday?!) STRAIGHT from the freezer! HOLY YUM! A few grapes also made an appearance!
Now it's time to enjoy my DVR and see who got voted off of SYTYCD! :D

My mom bought some Smart Ones Desserts at the store today and I'm still itching for a little something, so I may officially end the night with this baby! Yea, I have a bigger sweet tooth than the average bear!
