Suspense Straws

The rain is on its way...Oh joY! I am getting a little tired of trekking to work in the pouring rain and trekking home in the flooded roads with my windsheild covered in streams of the wet culprit. If I was chilling at home with plenty of snacks, movies and a comfy set of pajamas...rain would be more than welcomed! ;)

I did manage to sneak into Target on the way home to snag a few things and I stumbled upon a NEW PRODUCT! Ahhh...like a kid in a candy store. You'll have to wait until tomorrow though because I have not exactly tried it yet. The suspense...
I then settled in for a quick, easy, filling dinner. I thank college for my skillz in preparing this dish.

Toast an English Muffin and finish it off with lotsa cheese!
Be lazy (or you could say "efficient") and microwave an egg in a small dish for 1 minute. Slice a tomato and a peach in the meantime.
Sit on the couch and turn on So You Think You Can Dance for the full effect.
Then, I popped open a package that was perched upon my doorstep (it managed to escape the flood of rain falling from the sky...)
Of course, I had to dig right on in (duh!) and I opted to go the sweet route, seeing as I was in major need of a little dessert by this point (it's been a whole 6 hours since I had chocolate. Too long.).
MMM…Firm, crispy straws provide a hearty crunch beneath your teeth and transform into a light and airy mouthful after just a few chews. They were lightly coated with a delightful dusting of subtly sweet apple cinnamon flavor. These extremely crispy, crunchy straws provide you with a taste experience remarkably comparable to Taco Bell’s Cinnamon Twists. I haven’t had those in…a long time (do they still sell them?), but if you ever bit into those and enjoyed the experience, then step on up to the Sensible Portions plate!
One ounce is a serving, but I felt like I was eating exponentially more than one ounce! :D
These are addicting folks. Thank goodness I had a single serving baggie (which was packed with a substantial serving!) because I am pretty sure that the only thing that kept me from munch, munch, munchin’ was the fact that my hand was sadly reaching into an empty bag.

I received these as a free sample from the company, but I can whole-heartedly say that I will be purchasing these again. If I can’t find them in the grocery stores nearby, then I would undoubtedly pay $30 for 24 delightful bags of apple cinnamon goodness at the Sensible Portions online store.

And on that note, I shall go hit the sack. Tomorrow is Thursday! The weekend is on its way! Woo hoo!!

What's on the agenda this weekend? I am preparing for a little trip-action! So excited. So much to do.

What new products have you ran into lately? Fill me in folks. I am a nosy little foodie!

Multi-Plus

This just posted randomly before I could even say "hey", so I bet some of you enjoyed making up your own little stories for the strand of pictures that popped up.

It probably started by glancing at the title and thinking that I was going to talk about this brand new super vitamin that can change your whole life. Not even on the right track there, friends.

Then you would see this box and be prepped for one stellar review. Okay, so that wouldn't have been too far off.

Emily...Did you know that you are a sucker for advertisements? Yes, I am lured in by flashy phrases, but I do NOT take them at face value. Bad idea.
You only get 3/4 cup in a serving...Who decided that one? Yea, we are definitely on the same page here.
Vitamins and minerals. I knew this post had some vitamin action going on. Hey, I wonder if this stuff is any good? haha You caught me. Oh, and YES...it's some amazing stuff. It tastes remarkably like Apple Cinnamon Cheerios.
I wonder if she realizes that we already saw a picture of the box earlier?
Man, she sure does like cereal. Yea, I sure do. Got a problem???
YUM! I bet she put those two cereals in the same bowl. Who does she think she is?
Well, this is random. Ice Cream. Nutritious is Delicious. Hey, one out of two ain't bad.
She must really like these Blue ice cream treats. Yea, I REALLLY do!

Soooo....How'd I do? Could I fall back on mind reading, if this whole college thing doesn't work out?! ;)

Flat Frozen Fruity Frenzy!!

If you're wondering, NO...I am not about to show you some out-of-this-world, paper thin, cold, fruit ladened treat. Although, the title seemed fitting because all of the words start with "F" and are all featured in this post. Alliteration...my 9th grade English teacher would be so proud.

I hope that you enjoyed America's Birthday yesterday. I loved having a three day weekend and I am loving the looks of a short week! :)

Let's get the fruity portion of this post out of the way, eh? The method to my madness these past few days has been Blackberries. The fact that they were on sale for $.99 may or may not have swayed my culinary creations.

I have made the educated decision (yea, I like to stay on top of my studies in the summer) that any fruit placed on top of a chewy English Muffin lathered in peanut butter and jelly is a smile waiting to happen.
Flat to the Out...FlatOut. Okay, so I'm not exactly becoming a rapper anytime soon (poet isn't in the cards, either), but these FlatOut Crisps make me go a bit crazzzy. I was sent some products, courtesy of FlatOut, after entering a contest (which I lost...whoops!). They were sweet enough to still send me some goodies to enjoy. I knew that I loved this company for a reason! ;)
I have like 1 million products to review (exaggeration...one of my strong points), but I think I will take it slow. Let's look at the one that most caught my eye:
Heck, I would brake for cheese, but four cheese. I'm comin' to a screeeeeching halt!
The nutrition facts leave me happy...mostly because I can stick my hand into the bag 15 times and still tell myself that I only had "one serving". haha
Sorta long, eh? :/
At least we know that this crunchy snack is Au Natural!
The overall taste and texture of the crisps is very “wheat-y”. You can definitely tell that these are packed with fiber. They hit you with a subtly cheesy flavor from the powder that coats the crisps, but that flavor fades rather quickly and you are left with a simple wheat cracker breaking down beneath your teeth. If you like your snacks to have a healthy feel, you would swoon over these 100% stone ground whole wheat creations. If you typically reach for refined grains to subdue the munchies, FlatOut’s new Flatbread Crisps may not be the best snack to jump straight towards.
MMM...cheesy, powder dusted crisps.
I enjoyed an ice cold sonic tea this weekend and though that we should all say hi to their super cute mascot:
Hey, Sweet Sweet Ice Cream Dude! :)

I was sent a coupon from Blue Bunny to try out one of their many frozen novelties. Hmm, where to begin? Well, for one...bring a friend to make important decisions such as these. My roommate and I made the deliberate decision and ended up heading home with (and immediately devouring) Blue Bunny Birthday Party Ice Cream Sandwiches. My mom's birthday, my birthday, my cousin's birthday, my grandpa's birthday, America's birthday...they all go down in July. It felt only necessary to celebrate them all in this way.
I didn't even realize this, but these sweet treats are made with light ice cream. Cool-io.
Hahaha....let's pretend we didn't just look at this. Kay? Thanks.
You'll be glad that you overlooked that because these puppies are GOOOOOOD! Like "get me another one" good. The wafers are soft, the ice cream is creamy and the treat is enhanced by a plethora of colorful sprinkles and a thick swirl of vibrant frosting. It tasted 100% like birthday cake and I couldn't get enough of it!
It rivals my favorite soft-serve...
and Dairy Queen's new Pecan Pie Blizzard (Which is caaa-razy good!).
What was the last "get me another one GOOD" ice-creamy dessert that you had?

Who's birthday are you going to be celebrating soon?

Caliente Boutique Cookies

The Vegetarian, The Nostalgic, Deutsch Delikatessen, Satan's Little Helper, Crazy Apes, Caribbean Delight, Blueberry Boutique, The Indulgent, The Harvester, Cocoa Caliente...

When I was browsing the web and stumbled across Cookies by Sarah, I was immediately intrigued by the fun names of her cookies...and, more so, by the tasty descriptions that accompanied them.

I was generously sent a box of cookies to review for my lovely friends (aka YOU) and when I opened said box, I was greeted by a bountiful box exploding with pink confetti.

Love at first sight.

I love the design of this company...from the way they wrap their boxes, to the way they pack their boxes, to the cute biz cards that sat alongside everything.
It felt like my birthday! *which it almost is!*
More PINK! :) This company really puts alot of thought and care into their packages and it makes you feel so special!
I was sent two varieties...the first being Blueberry Boutique.
The cookie is firm and somewhat crumbly with a vibrant and refreshing lemon flavor profile that compliments the buttery, rich white chocolate chips and plump, naturally sweet dried blueberries perfectly. The ingredients are all so fresh, which combines to form one AWESOME homemade cookie!
I also received the Cocoa Caliente variety. As I was unwrapping my little bundle of joy, I could smell the radiating combo of chocolate and heat, which enticed my intrigue even more. I dug one out of the plastic wrapping and took a bite. MMM! Chocolate. It tasted like a premium chocolate chocolate chunk cookie. Crispy on the outside with a dense, almost fudgy center inside. I swallow. Where’s the heat? Oh…THERE it is. It starts as an incredibly subtle heat in the back of your throat after your first bite and it intensifies with each and every luscious bite that follows. It is simply something unexpected that takes this cookie to a whole other level. And it’s not overbearing, which I have experienced with sweets that try to incorporate some heat before!
My BFF is here for the weekend and she brought me these: Planter's NUTrition Cranberry Almond Peanut Bars.
This is a chewy bar with some bite due to a plethora of whole hunks of almonds and peanuts that provide an element of saltiness and nuttiness, accompanied by a boost of all natural sweetness from the dried cranberries and an intermingled crisp from the crisped rice. It’s like a grown up rice crispy treat with tons of mix-ins dispersed throughout and a slightly elevated level of chew. Plus, the ingredient list is impressive.
A++ I would buy this again.

No time to spell check or I'm going to be late for work! Whooops!
